"Wild Horses" Painted Resin L/E - 99 12 x 24 x 18h |
Since much of my work has been created at my summer place in the Adirondacks, Saratoga County, you might say I am a Saratoga artist. In any event, I first showed my sculpture in Saratoga Springs which was sentimental to me, due to a family tie. The family story was that my grandfather, Jim Gartin, caught wild horses in eastern Oregon and brought stock cars of them by train on several occasions to sell in the East ( we never knew where ). His brother, William Gartin, worked for Canfield as a dealer in the Casino until 1907. So Dad used to say - " Maybe Grandpa sold wild horses in Saratoga Springs!" --- JCG
